Community of Practice for Wastewater Surveillance in Correctional Settings
Last updated November 1, 2023
Correctional settings, including prisons and jails, can be hotspots for transmission of COVID and other diseases. Wastewater-based surveillance (WBS) has the potential to facilitate rapid and early identification of cases, although correctional settings have unique characteristics that impact the feasibility of WBS programs. WEF hosts a community of practice (CoP) for practitioners and researchers interested in and/or implementing WBS in correctional settings. Our CoP includes more than 60 people across more than 15 states and meets every other month to share case studies and lessons learned. Browse the list of publications below, some of which include CoP members as authors, or email us to join our meetings or suggest an addition to the publication list.
